How Mira took a fresh look at their showers
Our expertise ensured that Mira showers were designed to accommodate a broader range of users.

Showers pose unique challenges for those who are blind or partially sighted, so when Mira Showers sought our help to design an accessible shower, we were eager to assist.
In an initial workshop, we discussed visual awareness, key design features and reviewed Mira's existing products and their prototype for the new Select Flex shower.
Having had blind and partially sighted individuals test a prototype, it was discovered that simply using red and blue for temperatures was insufficient. The words "Hot" and "Cold" needed to be added to help prevent any potential confusion.
But our work didn’t end there. To ensure accessibility extended to instructions, Mira also created a Braille product guide and an audio guide for using the shower.
"This is our first audio user guide, but it's a really exciting one. I think it's definitely set the benchmark for other products that are targeted to that aid and adaptation environment and should be a standard for us."
